Adopt-A-Trail
at Hashawha / Union Mills
Become Something More Than A Trail User!
MTBMD is looking volunteers for our Adopt-a-Trail program!
Year round the trails at Hashawha and Union Mills need tender loving care. To keep our trails safe, fun, and flowing, MTBMD is launched an Adopt-a-Trail program in the spring of 2026, and we’re looking for volunteers who want to make a direct impact on the trails they love.
Volunteers adopt a section of trail that they choose and help maintain it on their own schedule - no heavy construction, just keeping vegetation in check and trails safe and rideable.
What you’ll do:
Work at your own pace, on your own schedule
Work alone or take a small group with you
Clear brush and overgrowth (tools provided)
Trim vegetation to maintain sightlines and flow
Report fallen trees or major hazards
No experience needed — MTBMD provides training, tools, and safety gear. Volunteers also get an official “Trail Worker” t-shirt.
Why it matters:
Well-maintained trails are safer, more sustainable, and better for everyone.
Whether you ride, walk, run or use the trail system in anyway, consider becoming a part of our Adopt-a Trail Program.
